BA in Kumaun University

BA refers to Bachelor of Arts. Students who have completed the 12th standard will be eligible to apply for a B.A. degree.

Kumaun University, Nainital offers the Bachelor of Arts program in subjects such as History, Political Science, Sociology, Psychology, Hindi, Economics, etc. 

In some colleges, the year-wise examination method is followed while in others the semester system is present. In this post, our main focus is on the syllabus of the year-wise system.

Kumaun University BA History Syllabus

01. BA 1st Year History Syllabus

The syllabus of History for BA’s first year comprises the study of Indian (up to 1200 A.D.) as well as World History from Mid 15th century to 1814 A.D.

02. BA 2nd Year History Syllabus

In the second year, the syllabus is quite the same – just the timeframe of Indian & World History is increased. Here you will learn about the History of India from 1200-1760 AD while World History from 1815 to 1945.

Additionally, you will learn archaeology in India from 6 Century BC to the 12th century A.D.

03. BA 3rd Year History Syllabus

The final year syllabus of History for Bachelors of Arts is somewhat different. However, the first book that you will study is still the same (Indian History) – but the timeframe is increased again from 1761 to 1950 A.D.

The second book comprises two parts namely Indian Society & Culture, Ancient Indian Art & Architecture.

In the first semester of BA with Political Science, you will be introduced by the political theory & the theory of modern government.

01. BA 1st Year Economics Syllabus

Economics is a branch of social science that deals with the production, consumption & transfer of wealth. In the first year of BA Economics, the syllabus is divided into two main books namely Micro- Economics & Basic Quantitative Methods for Economics.
